Ok, time for another spew of verbiage. Life continues to be good. I made a day trip through northern Indiana on the motorcycle into Michigan to go to Warren Dunes State Park. I stopped at the Indiana Dunes National Shoreline on my way and bought a:

Passport
To Your National Parks

It's a pocket sized wire bound notebook/booklet on the National Parks that's used to collect stamps from the parks and serve as a mini-scrap book. So I got my first stamp there. I then went to New Buffalo, MI and read about the different regions of the park service while I ate lunch at a place called "Nancy's". I wished I had it when I was in Florida a few years back because there's a place for a stamp from Castillo San Marcos National Monument that I visited.

I think I'll be making a few trips to the Indiana Dunes this summer. I really enjoyed riding the bike through the Indiana Dunes National Shoreline on US Highway 12. I hung out at the Visitor's Center taking in their 10 minute slide show on the dunes before heading into Michigan.

When I arrived at Warren Dunes I paid my $5 non-resident daily fee and headed into the park. While I was cruising the parking lot looking for a place to stash the bike and wander around on the HUGE Dune there, A park ranger stopped me and asked if I left my helmet somewhere in the park... Well... I left it at home... Michigan has a mandatory helmet law that I was unaware of until that moment. I was told I could not be in the park on my motorcycle without a helmet so I decide to get the hell out of Michigan before I got a ticket. I never thought I'd be happy to get to "Indiana" (of all places...) when I crossed that state line...

That's enough for now...

Write soon :-)
