The kitchen floor needed to be redone and the paneling that was up around the bottom of the walls was really dark and ugly. The refrigerator had some sort of science project gone wrong, so we got rid of that.
Here is the kitchen with the new Ceramic tile, Pine paneling and our science project free refrigerator.
Our house was built in 1957 so as expected it needed a little work.
Our first project was the Hardwood Floors. This included the Dining room (on the left), Living room and both Bedrooms. It is hard to tell if they were ever finished because they were really worn.
As you can tell from the picture below, it was well worth the time and energy to fix them up.
The Dining room and Living room are attached and we have a wood burning stove. We do not have any pictures of the floors in the bedrooms on here because they were not as bad as the main living areas.
Here is the floors after the first pass with the sander using 24 grit paper. After that we had to go over the floors with 36, 60, 80 and 100.
Then after three coats of polyerathane we are ready to move on to the next project... The Kitchen
