Commander Jeffrey SinclairCommander Jeffrey Sinclair, Earth Alliance. First commander of Babylon 5 and a hero of the last battle in the Earth-Minbari war; The Battle of the Line. Specifically requested by the Minbari government for this coveted post, Commander Sinclair tries to manage the ever changing, always volatile mixture of people and events on the station. A solid, and stern figure Jeffrey Sinclair immediately distinguishes himself as a man on a collision course with destiny. Character portrayed by Michael O'Hare.

 

Captain John SheridanCaptain John Sheridan, Earth Alliance. Second commander of Babylon 5 and also a hero of the Earth-Minbari war. Captain Sheridan is held in somewhat less esteem than Commander Sinclair by the Minbari, for he killed many of their kind during the war earning him the moniker "Star Killer". An outstanding leader and soldier, Captain Sheridan is a pivotal figure in the unfolding events on Babylon 5. Character portrayed by Bruce Boxleitner.

 

Commander Susan IvanovaCommander Susan Ivanova, Earth Alliance. Second in command on Babylon 5, Susan Ivanova is a "tough as nails" Russian soldier with a no-nonsense attitude and a deadly grace under fire. She proves indispensable to both Commander Sinclair and Captain Sheridan in helping to overcome the challenges that continually face Babylon 5. Beneath her exterior lies a woman of great passion and many secrets. Character portrayed by Claudia Christian.

 

Commander Susan IvanovaCaptain Elizabeth Lochley, Earth Alliance. Third commander of Babylon 5. A veteran of the Earth civil war, Cpt. Lochley fought on Clark's side during the war. She was appointed to Babylon 5 because of her loyalty to earth, and because of her skill as a military commander. A soldier's soldier, her stance often  puts her at odds with Michael Garabaldi. Intelligent ,quiet, subtle, and formidable Captain Lochley is perfectly suited to handle being commander of Babylon 5. Character portrayed by Tracey Scoggins.

 

Chief of Security Michael GarabaldiChief of Security Michael Garabaldi, Earth Alliance. A talented man with a troubled past, Michael Garabaldi seems to have found his niche on Babylon 5. His innate paranoia and excellent instincts make him perfectly suited to that task of defending Babylon 5 from all threats, external and internal. In addition, Mr. Garabaldi has that innate knack for being at the right place at the right time. Some dangers, however, threaten to appear from places even he could not suspect. Character portrayed by Jerry Doyle

 

Chief Medical Officer Stephen FranklinChief Medical Officer Dr. Stephen Franklin, Earth Alliance. As head of the medical department on Babylon 5 and as a brilliant xenophysician, Dr. Franklin cares for races from dozens of worlds. Lurking beneath this man of science is an individual with a deep spirituality and the heart of a poet. Dr. Franklin's earnestness and intelligence make him privy to events far outside the medical sphere, as he soon becomes embroiled in the struggle to shape the future of the galaxy. Character portrayed by Richard Biggs.

 

Ambassador DelennAmbassador Delenn, Minbari Federation. Chosen of Valen, Member of the Grey Council, Delenn is a very special Minbari indeed. A member of the religious cast, driven by fear and prophecy, Delenn works to promote peace among the races gathered at Babylon 5. But Delenn also has a hidden and incredible agenda which will bring her into the greatest conflict she has ever known, and a love she could not imagine. Character portrayed by Mira Furlan.

 

Ambassador KoshAmbassador Kosh Neranek, Vorlon Empire. The sole physical link between the races of Babylon 5 and the enigmatic Vorlon Empire, Kosh represents a tangible riddle. Always speaking in dense metaphor, Kosh's purpose and agenda are unfathomable. Unknown to is whether he -and the Vorlons he represents- are a force for good or an even greater evil than the Shadows. No one can deny, however that Kosh is a being of immense power from one of the most powerful races in the galaxy. Character portrayed by Animatronics.

 

Ambassador Londo MollariAmbassador Londo Mollari, Centauri Republic. Apologist for his people, blustering diplomat, vigorous debaucher, Londo Mollari is nothing if not colorful. His gaiety and manner conceal a complex individual beneath; a patriot driven by the need to restore glory and empire to his people. This desire is all-consuming and, when honesty is overcome by expediency, very costly. Character portrayed by Peter Jurasik.

 

Ambassador G'KarAmbassador G'kar, Narn Republic. Resistance fighter against the Centauri; member of the Narn ruling council - the "Kari" -, G'kar is a respected member of his people and the chief advocate of Narn interests on Babylon 5. Much of his passion is fueled by his overweening desire for revenge against his Centauri's oppressors. His quest to exact vengeance will take him on a long, painful journey. Character portrayed by Andreas Katsulas.

 

Marcus ColeRanger Marcus Cole, Army of Light. Raised on an Earth colony, the death of his brother because of a Shadow attack drove Marcus to join the Rangers, a secret Minbari/Earth organization dedicated to fighting the Shadows. Marcus now serves on Babylon 5 under Captain Sheridan and Delenn. He is irreverent, witty, and roguish all at once and adds the "wild card" factor to the mix of events on Babylon 5. Character portrayed by Jason Carter.

 

Talia WintersPSI Corps Commercial Telepath Talia Winters, Earth Alliance. Assigned to Babylon 5 by PSI Corps., Talia is a commercial telepath who is diligent in her duties and loyal to Earth and the Corps. Talia has a marked effect on everyone she encounters, especially Mr. Garabaldi. However, events on Babylon 5 soon draw Talia into situations that cause her to question what she truly is and where her loyalties should lie. Character portrayed by Andrea Thompson.

 

Lyta AlexanderLyta Alexander, Earth Alliance. Formerly a commercial telepath for the PSI Corps., Lyta's experience with the Vorlon Ambassador Kosh Neranek resulted in her first being sent back to Earth, and then almost sent to a dissection table. Now rebelling against the Corps., Lyta is a rogue telepath, coming to Babylon 5 in hopes of seeking shelter from the Corps. and learning more about the mysterious Vorlons. Character portrayed by Patricia Tallman.

 

Security Lieutenant Zack AllenSecurity Lieutenant Zack Allen, Earth Alliance. Coming on to the scene after his predecessor shot Mr. Garabaldi in the back, Zack has worked hard to earn Mr. Garabaldi's respect and trust. More easygoing and tolerant than Garabaldi, Zack serves as a nice foil to Garabaldi's edgier Chief of Security. Events loom, however, that will change Zack's position and relationship with Garabaldi. Character portrayed by Jeff Conoway.

 

Mr. MordenMr. Morden, Shadows. A member of a scientific expedition that included Captain Sheridan's wife, Mr. Morden is the sole survivor of that ill-fated mission. A servant and chief agent for the alien race discovered by that mission, the Shadows, Mr. Morden works to sway other sides over the cause of his masters. Suave, crafty and utterly deadly, Mr. Morden is a major force for evil on Babylon 5. Character portrayed by Ed Wasser.

 

LennierLennier Adjutant to Ambassador Delenn, Minbari Federation. Loyal, resourceful, brave all these describe the religious caste member who serves as Delenn's aide. Bound to Delenn by bonds of respect and love, Lennier thinks nothing of risking his life to protect Delenn and further the plans and interests she holds dear. His qualities are such that he has earned the respect of many in Babylon 5. Lennier represents a quiet and formidable figure in the forces of good. Character portrayed by Bill Mumy.

 

Vir CottoVir Cotto Adjutant to Londo Mollari, Centauri Republic. Naive, bumbling, foppish, Londo would use all these words to describe his "green around the tentacles" aide, Vir. But in the same breath would come honest, courageous, committed. An, as Londo learns to his chagrin, Vir is quite capable of acting on his own without Londo's stewardship. Vir is a man unaware of his destiny or the scope of the role he will play in the events that play out on Babylon 5. Character portrayed by Stephen Furst.

 

Emperor CartagiaEmperor Cartagia, Centauri Republic. Successor to Emperor Turhan, Cartagia is quite, quite mad. Thoughtless in his cruelty, driven by vanity and a quest for godhood, Cartagia is a threat to anything he notices. Seeking to become a living divinity, Cartagia is willing to sacrifice his people -his world- to the Shadows in return for their help in granting him godhood. This willingness to sacrifice others to achieve his goals makes Cartagia an excellent bedfellow for Londo Mollari. Character portrayed by Wortham Krimmer.
