| Very little information is availabe about my Great Grandparents. I do know that their son [my grandpa] traced Betty's tree and discovered that she was a descendant of President James Monroe. His brother Joseph was supposed to be her 15th Great Grandpa (so it is said). If we prove that we are related to the President, then any one of us could be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. at no charge. My grandfather also found out that his cousin was Vaughn Monroe. He was a famous big band era singer/conductor and he made several movies and recorded some country songs as well. My grandfather's information also suggested that Marilyn Monroe's mother was related to our Monroe side too. Her name was Gladys Monroe Baker. |
