North Star is blessed with three talented and quite welll known actors.
Christophe had just come out of Mortal Kombat, McCormack just out of Braveheart, and Caan out of whatever he'd just came out of.
What then, tempted them to go to Norway to stumle around in the snow to make North Star?
Must have been decent pay cheques, because while North Star is quite enjoyable it is also very unremarkable, and it's not terribly surprising that no one's ever heard of it.
The setting's quite nice, but you'll never find yourself anywhere near the edge of your seat during the movie. The reviews at the IMDB sum it up quite nicely: this would have been considered wonderfully exciting 30 or 40 years ago, but in the mid-nineties it's all very tame.
James Caan enjoys himself in what is clearly the starring role, whereas Christophe must have forgetten to take a soother since the prveiously mentioned MK was filmed, as he's still talking in Rayden voice; and since he doesn't have much more to do besides run around in the snow, this is hardly his greatest performance.
He doesn't look like he's having much fun either, he can't even raise a smile at the end when he's rescued the damsel and terminated the bad guy.
There's not much more to be said about North Star really. Worth a rental I guess, but pretty forgettable.
