I am l;ooking forward to the coming year and can't wait to teach you about ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Aztecs. I think you"ll be amazed at what these early civilizations accomplished and invented and be amused by whhat they thought controlled their lives. You will also learn about plant and animal cells, different types of energy, and weather. Not too many new concepts in Math are taught in 6th grade, we just go into depth and are teaching for proficiency in all areas. Warning: If you d not know your multiplication tables to 12, you will fall behind quickly..There is no extra time during the day to teach this. Students should already know their multiplication tables. In Reading..I will be teaching comprehension and fluency. You will be writing everyday, learning new strategies...I am sure there will be great writers in my class...I will see you on August 9th...
