Ann Baldwin was born in England around the year 1788. Her father was John Baldwin and her mother was Hannah Hire. On the 8th September1805 Ann was charged with stealing from her employer. Her younger sister, Mary (14) was also charged on the same day, for receiving the above goods. They stood trial at the Old Bailey, London on the 5th October 1805. Mary was found Not Guilty, however Ann did not fare so well and was  sentenced, on the 30th of October 1805, to 7 years transportation to N.S.W.

Ann sailed from Falmouth, aboard the "Sydney Cove" on 11th January 1807 (over 1 year later) and arrived at Port Jackson on 18th June 1807.

Less than three months after her arrival she married James Timmins, on the 6th September 1807 at  Saint Phillip's Church of England, Sydney.

In the 1828 Census James and Ann are listed as having forty two and a half acres at Richmond with ten horses and four cattle. James and Ann had fourteen children among them John, my ancestor.

Ann died on the 20th December 1884, her death certificate stating she was 100 years old. She was buried at Windsor by a Catholic priest.
