| The Baikal MP654K is not only based on the famous Russian PPK copy the Makarov, but contains many of the parts of the original. Not surprising then that the quality of this pistol is very high. Evidence of this can be seen in the nickle topslide version. The topslide in this case is not made of a lightweight alloy coated in nickle paint, but is milled from solid stainless steel. The 'Makarov' may be a BB firing CO2 pistol, but that doesn't seem to stop it from being accurate and powerful. An abundance of these pistols being imported from Russia means that some suppliers are offering ridiculous price slashes, and the pistol's price has fallen from 100 to 60 over the last year or two. Very recently a walnut (wooden) grip model has become available and looks very promising. |
