GAMEWORKS
The people who played at gameworks came together because me and my friend josh had heard about guitar freaks and decided to check it out one friday in march of 2003 when we were both in the seventh grade. We both decided when we got there to buy the unlimited credits for one month card so we could come back later. As soon as we treid GF1st mix we were both hooked.
after we started to play DM and later a little of BM. me and josh never really spent anytime playing DDR. we improved and improved until december of that year when they stopped selling the month unlimited cards. we had a couple of buddy's who were regulars at the arcade which included me josh julien and ranier. after almost one whole year of playing assorted bemani everyone started to find other things to do since we didnt have any money to buy cards since the UL one was so cheap.
later DDR was lent to me by a friend since i had played a 4 song demo of DDRMAX for a couple week each night trying to do better in each song. the came my arcade experience. everyone started to go to DDR since we had no money for gameworks anymore. as soon as i started playing DDR, i was determined to get better, since i was the only one who played on standard, even though i owned at gameworks's bemani machines.
time passed and improvemnts showed as i then started to surpass julien in DM when i started to stop using auto bass. i started to play more beatmania but i still didnt really notice all the S's i was achieving in DM. i played meerly for fun.
then came the urge to learn more about the newer version everyone had tried in the states and off-island. i searched for "beatmania" on google and thats when it began. i soon found out about bemanistyle.com a really cool community of bemani lovers like me who actually talked about all sorts of stuff. i was amazed. i started reseaching new mixes, what people were playing, and other stuff. i wanted a new mix of bemani knowing it had all these cool songs i knew were in DDR Extreme.
then started the quest for more. Bemani simulators that were newly introduced to me helped me know about lots of new songs. at about this time all the ameworks people had now been acquainted with the DDR people, so discussion of making a sort of team and getting someone to take pictures of all of james AA"s started.
now it is this, i own a modded PS2 so i can play bemani home versions. i own IIDX 8th and 7th style with a nice controller. i own pop'n music 10 with a nice controller. i have DDREX home version. GF/DM 4th and 3rd mix. and numerous other music related games have been bought buy me since my obsession for bemani. parappa the rapper, technic beat, and mad maestro have all been added to my collection of ps2 games. im a constant poster on homei's DM/GF simulation site(www.homei.cc/gdamania). i post on bemanistyle and now am into j-rock bands featured in bemani. it has all added up to this, now Sing all those songs we thought were impossible to pass on DM2 and finally passing on genom screams another and clearing those nasty 10 footers. I am now an official bemani addict.
