U48 (Kptlt.Schultze) sinks the british steamer „Royal Sceptre“ (4853BRT) at 14.00. The passengers were able to leave the ship before. Women and kids were rescued by the boat.

U47 (Kptlt. Prien) sinks the brit. steamer „Bosnia“.

U32 leaves Kiel for minelaying off Portsmouth. (The boat is later redirected because of strong Anti-sub forces in Portsmouth area)

 

German sea-plane He-115 shoots down a british coastal plane south of

Doggerbank. One airmen rescued.

 

“Scheer” shoots down a approaching german Ju-52 plane because of bad weather conditions. 7 dead (Hptm.Klünder).

 

14:50 german sub sinks british steamer “Browning” (5332t) after the crew left the ship at 46°39`N, 14°55`W.

 

U17 is laying mines near England.
