B.d.A. and U31, U32, U35 are ordered into the north-sea.

O.d.Ost orders forces into the Danzig Bay to keep in touch with polish

Submarines with northeastern course 80sm north of the Danzig bay. U18 is pusuing the enemy boats under water.

01.30 polish forces rejected at northeast part of  Westerplatte without casualties.

During the night the attack company on the Westerplatte is reinforced by SS-Pak Zug, 1 heavy Minenwerfer and one platoon SS-Heimwehr. Forward positions at Möwenschanze.

 

1.Fliegerdivision (St.G.2, IV./L.G.1, 4./186) attack harbor installations in Danzig harbor area sinking the polish repair-ship „Nurek“ and the T-boat „Mazur“.

 

04:30-06:00 “Schleswig-Holstein” changing position to the east side opposite of Weichsel railstation. (because of planed air raids)

Ammo used until now: 112 – 28cm, 425 – 15cm, 355 – 8,8cm, 11000 – 2cm.

83 men lost, 10-15 dead, Company commander died of his wounds later.

 

German destroyers bombard the southern part of Hela and are attacked by enemy submarines 3 times without success. Water-bombs used. Polish submarine Wilk damaged.

“Schleswig Holstein” artillery duell with enemy battery at Hochredlau.

Sea battle with polish Wicher, Gryf and 15cm battery (hit on Leberecht Maaß)

 

“B.v.Arnim” and “Bruno Heinemann” ordered to Wilhelmshaven for disposal of O.d.West

and repairs.

 

Stuka-attack (60 a/c) on the Westerplatte without obvious success.

Air reconnaissance of the Skagerrak to Skagen-Langesund-fjord: No enemy forces sighted, about 40 steamers.
