U24 attacks enemy destroyer off
Pentland Firth.
In the Northsea heavy seas disturb
minesweeping and sub-chasing operations.
Two Reserve-Vorpostenboote operate against
enemy merchant ships between Landsort and Trelleborg.
“Schleswig Holstein” and “Schlesien” bombard
enemy batteries on Hela-South.
23.Infanterie Div. is transported from
Königsberg to Stettin protected by “Bremse”, and boats of T.S.-
and
7.M.S.Flottille.
U-Boote:
U24 heading for home.
U36 operating against merchant
ships from Aalesund and Kristiansund.
U33 sinks the british vessel “Caldew”
(274t) south of the Faroes by gunfire.
U34 seizes the spanish ship “Hanonia”
near Norway and sends it to Germany. The ship is used as Schiff II for
minelaying operations later on.
U31 sink the steamer “Hazelside”
by gunfire and 1 torpedo.
Railbattery “Gneisenau” is transferred back
from the Army to Navy. Gruppe Ost plans to use battery at Hela.
The boats of 3., 5., 7.
Hafenschutzflottille are going back to the fishing ministery because
coastal area is not threatened.
