During the night 17./18. the british destroyers “Esk”, “Express”, “Ivanhoe” and “Intrepid” lay 240 mines of the Ems-estuary.

„SS Serenity“ (487BRT) a cargo ship on a journey from Methil to London, was bombed and sunk by German aircraft, E of Whitby.

 

South-Atlantic

Selfdestruction of the „Graf Spee“ off Montevideo.
