| Bert Vaughn, Owner |
| "Bert was staring at the door, a smile already set on his face. It was his best professional smile, dripping with sincerity. His pale grey eyes sparkled with good cheer. It was a mask. He could put it off and on like a light switch. He'd wear the same smile if you confessed to killing your own mother. As long as you wanted to pay to have her raised from the dead..." | A native of eastern Missouri, Bert Vaughn moved to the west coast in to attend Stanford University on a football scholarship. After attaining a Masters in Political Science. He then began working as a political stategist for the Republican Party. Within ten years, he had established a name for himself as a fiercedly aggressive political operative. But then again, nothing about Bert is passive.. Standing at 6'4" with the build of a former college athlete, Bert Vaughn has always been known for being as competitive off the field as on it. In 1990, Bert moved to St. Louis with his then fiancee Angelica Locke, a former public relations with the U.S. Navy. Together they formed the premiere Animating firm within the United States. The only one of its kind, the firm was both profitable and selective but no less than one year passed before they began to experience problems. Eight months after they created the firm, they lost not one but three employees when animator Brent Pinkerton decided to establish his own firm based out of New Orleans. Three months later, the firm was split in half with the disintegration of partnership between Vaughn and Locke. Despite the personal and professional blow this had on his life, Bert Vaughn managed to pick himself up by the bootstraps and reinvent his firm. He expanded their area of expertise, discovering and recruiting talented individuals who could perform a wide range of servies: vampire executioners, preternatural experts, animators. No less than four years later, Animators Inc. remains the strongest firm of its kind in the U.S. Board Certification American Board of Animating Member American Board of Animators Lycanthrope Chamber of Commerce St. Louis Chamber of Commerce Dark Horse Political Action Committee |
| Welcome to the online site for Animators Inc. This page was designed to guide you through the world of Laurell Hamilton. The characters portrayed on this page are all property of L.H., though I've created backstories for Bert Vaughn as none has been provided for him. Animators Inc. was established in the early 1980s, though a few of its services---such as attaining orders of executions for vampires---were not necessary until Addison vs. the U.S.A. (1991) made vampirism illegal. Four of the six preternatural specialists are certified by the American Board of Animators, the only one recognized by the federal government to certify vampire executioners. Several of our agents are affiliated with local and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the St. Louis area and are on call 24 hours a day. Get to know our animators.
