A pretty good shot of the engine (with cab mounted). Only one pipe and muffler are connected in the photo but I recently (11/9/02) scored a pair of cherry bombs from by brother-in-law Roger and will be finishing the exhaust system in a couple of weeks. The air cleaner is the original oil-bath system. Kinda cool - it pulls the air into the carb after bringing the air in at the top of the cleaner, forcing it down around the side and curving it up past the oil before finally making it to the carb. The idea is that any particles and junk are heavy and will hit the oil and stick. Change oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first.

Running only on beer and inspiration, the truck fired right up after sitting for so very long. No strangers to improvisation, we used the Bud bottle to catch water should we overheat on the first drive. Brought the temp to about 170 degrees and the motor wouldn't get any hotter. Better safe than sorry.

Here's the truck once we dropped the bed on. It is so nice how easily this thing was put back together. Four bolts hold the bed to the frame and that's it. Not too hard to believe, but four bolts also hold the cab to the frame. Nice to see it taking shape once again.
