Who hates more?

My enemy hates me
I hear him challenging me at my door
His armor clangs, as he pounds and shouts
My lips tremble, my face is pale,
I shout out to him;
"I'll meet you in the dale!

Other, wise heads council me,
It is to no avail
The drums of war are beating,
My heart is alive with fear!
My eyes are red and running
As I shed a single tear.

My enemy awaits me,
The penants flap in the gale,
the sun is gone behind gray skies
A terrible storm is brewing
The sky is shadowed, wind and seagulls cry
On the field of battle, someone soon will die

On the battlefield we greet
Armored and dark our swords soon meet
In his mirrored visage,
I see my eyes as they flash

We are matched truly,
Through the night our weapons clash.
And when the morning dawns,
My foe is fallen, he is slain
What I cannot quite understand
Is why I slew myself
