The Three Powerful Enemies as Universal Forces

Once we have the generally accepted definition, (see previous page), we can see that the three powerful enemies "map" to two things. One is "teachers", another is "sovereign" and the third is sages.

If we look at them as archetypes or recurring patterns. Then we can see the work of "ignorant laypeople", "twisted disciples", and "twisted sages" as part of a universally recurring pattern of behavior. One that is repeated throughout space and time. This behavior manifests in the "esoteric cycle" and in the development of religions in general. The interplay of these negative forces bends, destroys or perverts the noble aspirations of people everywhere.
