OBJECTIVE: Upon graduating from Trinity College I plan to attend Law School and study International Law. It is my intention to practice throughout North America and Europe.

 

EDUCATION:      

2000 –Present        University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland

                             Primary Degree: Theological, Biblical and Hebrew Studies

                             Secondary Degree: Classical History/Civilization

 

EXTRA CURRICULUM Upon being admitted to Trinity College I became a member of the Theological Society and in 2001 I was invited to join the committee.  In the middle of   my freshman year I joined the Student Union and in my sophomore and Junior year I was elected class representative.

Having a strong interest in debate from High School, I joined the Philosophical and Historical Debating Societies. I was twice invited as a guest speaker to debate theological and political issues. The Chaplancy, where I participated from freshman year allowed me to assist in Chaplancy functions. 

The Positive Peer Leaders, which is run by older students who volunteer to assist three “little brothers” from the same department. I have been invited twice by Trinity FM, our college radio station, to participate in two broadcast debates focusing on domestic politics (Irish) and the Middle East.

I am currently an active member of all organizations that I’ve become affiliated with.

SPORTS

    • Boxing (2001-03), Two years (could not continue due to a knee injury)
    • Fencing (2000-present), won the Challenge Cup for two years, which is given to the best fencer in the college. The Duffy Cup (a team event), the Trinity Cup (a team event) and the Dublin Institute of Technology Cup.
    • Cricket (2003-present), I was the first American in Trinity College history to play and make the Graduate team.  I also led the league in fielding in my first season.
    • Baseball (2001-present).  The last three seasons I’ve played in the Irish National Baseball League, which has allowed me to play against some of the great international players.

 

1998 – 2000         St. Joseph Academy, Brownsville, Texas

Member of Masterminds, a quiz team that competes against other schools in trivia.  I appeared on the T.V. show three times.  Varsity Baseball and Track and Field. Senior year I won the district competition for History as well as Current Events and was awarded fifth place in State wide competition.

1996 – 1998         Jesuit College Preparatory School, Dallas, Texas

Member Varsity Wrestling (won several awards including team and individual events.) Rugby, Whiz-Quiz (was on the district winning team one year).

Debate (summer studies in the University of Texas and Stanford University)

 

LANGUAGES:       Moderate Latin, basic Italian/Sicilian, rudimentary Spanish and Polish

 

HOBBIES:            Collecting vintage still photo cameras, reading, fly fishing, hunting, cooking and travel.

 

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

·         The Mother and Child Campaign (2001-present)

·         Dana Scallion’s campaign for the Galway West constituency of the European Parliamentary elections (2002).

VOLUNTEER WORK:

Teaching in City Wise, a school for disadvantaged children.

The Dublin Simon Community, a group that goes on soup/blanket runs for the homeless.
