Grades: Your grade in this class will be based on percentage, not total points.

 ·        80% Content

o       Tests 30%

o       Labs 20%

o       Quiz 15% (Announced and Unannounced)

o       Homework 15%

what this means. Be good.

 Course Requirements

 ·        Be prepared:

Each day, come to class prepared with the following: textbook,

binder, pen/pencil, and an assignment pad.

 ·        Necessary items:

You may want to purchase your own colored pencils. We will use

them frequently throughout the year for interpreting data and diagrams.

·        Web Assignments:

We will use the Internet frequently throughout this course. You should check our class web-site (at minimum) every Monday to prepare for the week’s activities. Many times, your assignments will be “interactive”, and will require you to communicate with me via e-mail. Not all assignments will be passed out in class. Most will be posted on the web for you to download on your own time. Make sure your school account is in order and in good standing!

·        Volunteer Hours / T.A. Program

This course is most important for students interested in pursuing careers in the health sciences. The health sciences make up some of the most competitive programs offered to college students. In this course you will not only be prepared with the content knowledge necessary for acceptance into such programs, but you will also be exposed to different fields in the health sciences. Many colleges require volunteer hours in your area of interest prior to acceptance. Throughout the year, multiple opportunities will be provided for you to take advantage of. Please let me know if you are interested as they come about.
