weBLOG for January 22nd, 2004

So, I got to thinking about women yesterday, and it was when yesterday's line came to me. It's from the movie "Mallrats," right before Jason Lee runs into a piece of scaffolding.

I got thinking on something today. There are times in your life when you come across people who you just have fun around. People who bring a smile to your face because of all you can share, or have shared. And it's rare to find people like this in everday life.

I found a person like this long ago. She and I could share anything, and then fate took her from me, probably for the best, but I'm still not sure about that. And then I came across someone else, someone dissimilar from this old friend of mine, but yet someone I can share with. And after developing a friendship with this person, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't let this friendship slip away. Maybe I'm fighting a losing battle, but fate did seem to throw this person at me again just when I thought that I had lost her.

And it is hard finding someone that special. And I know that I need someone like that(and maybe she needs someone like me too, but I'm not going to ruminate on that one), and I'm glad she and I met and became friends.

I'm such a sentimental sap, but I just wanted to give a little ode to someone that makes me smile.
