weBLOG for January 12th, 2004

"Let's hear it for the toilet paper!"

The line from yesterday's weblog was spoken by Parker Posey in the movie "Dazed and Confused". I certainly think it's better for a woman to say this than the oft-used "Bite me".

I don't know about the rest of you, but I require something to look forward to every day. Moreover, I'm currently looking for something[someone] to look forward to. Yes, I have someone in mind, but it's a long and complicated story, and I only forsee writing that in a weblog when I'm severely drunk. If I had her(or she had me), she would definitely be something to look forward to every day.

Before this weekend, I used to look forward to looking forward to everyday. You make it through, but you aren't very happy. You have moments of happiness, but they last as long as orgasms, or the time it takes to smoke a cigarette. Your friends, your family, the computer games, Around the Horn; they all become crutches so you can make it through the day with a smile on your face.

And yes, even with a signifigant other, it still is relying on a crutch, but at least this way you can be a crutch for someone else at the same time. And ultimately, isn't that what a relationship is about? Isn't a relationship one where you are support for that other person, and vice-versa?

I don't really know where the hell I'm going with this. It may be serious. I may be blowing it out of proportion. I may even be having a case of puppy syndrome. I really don't know. The only thing I do know is that I'm completely crazy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's nothing better than having someone there, even if it's just to hold, and hold you. Cause if love doesn't put a smile on your face...heck, once again, I don't know.
