"I'm Dying!"

The previous movie line was from "Snatch", directed by Guy Ritchie and featuring Brad Pitt.

Today, today is about dreams. And I'm not talking about the dreams where your Neo, and you're doing Trinity while killing Agent Smith with your pinkie: I'm talking about your portents. The ones that you conjure up when you want a certain outcome in your future. And I'm sure everyone does it. I know that I do it.

It's nothing major, just a little daydream that sprouts in your mind and grows into the rest of that moment, and the rest of that day, and the rest of that month, and so on, and so forth. And we've all experienced them with such a clarity in our sleep, that when we wake, we wonder if it truly happened.

Or if it truly can come to be. Of course, we always imagine the most favourable outcome for ourselves. And we take the appropriate steps to re-create the scene to the best of our abilities. You wear the outfit you had on in the dream, and you say the things you said in the dream. And you do your best to have the exact same attitude you had in the dream.

But it is my belief that just dreaming that outcome can turn things against our favour. To me, dreaming that outcome makes that outcome impossible. It doesn't matter if you do exactly how it was in the dream, the outcome will be against you.

It may be that whole karma thing(yes, back to Karma), however I think it's supposed to teach us an important lesson. We're supposed to just let our lives happen. Yes, we have to steer ourselves in a certain direction, but when it comes to a specific destination, we're just supposed to let ourselves go with the flow.

Yes, I know, it's a corny lesson to take from all this, but you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to actually do. I'm still trying to do it. With any luck, we'll all get to the destinations in our hearts.
