 1: PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

KNOW - All is a personal database with a million uses. It's a
phone number and address book, a diary, a recipe book, a
psychotherapist, a foreign phrase translator, a study aid and
more - all in one easy to use programme.

 2: HOW TO USE

To use simply type your question in the question box and hit
the O.K. button. If your answer is known it will be displayed.
If it is not you will be asked to teach KNOW - ALL the answer
so that next time you ask it will be able to give you an answer.
Whether or not you use capital letters really doesn't matter they're
all the same to KNOW - All.
To change a question or answer; type in the question, hit the O.K.
button, make the changes you want and hit the O.K. button again -
you will then be asked if you want to save the changes or not.
To delete a question; type it in and hit the Delete button
and the Cancel Button will cancel the current operation.
The Edit and the Search menus operate just as you'd expect
them to. Punctuation can be set to Use or Ignore - this will be
indicated by check mark. If it is set to Use, when KNOW - ALL
is searching memory for an answer to your question it will not
recognise "why" and "why?" as the same thing - so if you've taught
it the answer to "why" but not "why?" it will not know the answer
to "why?", but if Punctution is set to Ignore it will know, as they will
be considered to be the same question. Setting Punctuation to Ignore
does slow things down a bit so if you have an old machine its best
not to use punctuation in the first place when teaching KNOW - ALL
and have the Punctuation setting on Use.

3: TIPS & TRICKS

To use KNOW - ALL as a phone number and address book - simply
type in the names of your friends and associates as Questions
and their addresses and phone numbers as Answers.
To use KNOW - ALL as a recipe file type in the name of your favourite
recipes as Questions and the recipes as Answers.
To use KNOW - ALL as a foreign phrase translator type in the phrases
as Questions and their translations as Answers.
To use KNOW - ALL as a diary or schedule organiser type in the date
as a Question and your most personal feelings or your vital appointments
as Answers. ( You could type in "d" then the date for diary entries to stop
them becoming confused with your schedule if using KNOW - ALL for both.)
To use KNOW - ALL as a friend simply teach it a few interesting
Questions every night and pretty soon you'll be able to have a meaningful
     conversation with it.

You may find cross indexing helpful. For Example - under the Question
Recipes you could type as the Answer the names of all the recipes you have
taught KNOW - ALL. Then when you want to decide what to have for dinner
type "recipes" in the Question box and hit the O.K. button, select the name
of the gastronomic delight of your choice by dragging the mouse over it or
by holding down the shift key while using the arrow keys, use the Edit
function to copy it, hit the O.K. button to ask another Question, use the Edit
function to paste the name of the recipe you copied in the Question box and
finally hit the O.K. button again. It isn't as complicated as it sounds and with
minimal practice you'll find the Edit functions invaluable.

The TAB button is also very useful. ( It is on the left of your keyboard
just bove the caps lock key) It can be used to cycle through the buttons
and boxes of KNOW - ALL making the mouse an unnecessary waste of time.

Double clicking the date box will reveal the last question taught and
further single clicking will reveal previous ones.
Double clicking the time box will reveal the first question taught and
further single clicking will reveal subsequent ones.

The above are merely suggestions and I am sure you will develop your
own style and find many more uses for this versatile program.
