| Mr. Pine was born as Granville Whitelaw Pine n July 10th 1941 in New York City to patent attorney Granville and Virgina Pine. Then after being raised in Scarsdale New York and graduating from Scarsdale High School, Mr. Pine attended Ohio State Wesleyan University with his goal of being a doctor. After Graduating colloge, he enrolled in Columbia University taking more courses before applying for medical school. Through the father of an old high school sweetheart Mr. Pine was introduced to someone in casting at CBS and then sent to the talent reps at Universal. Becoming an actor in Feburary and by May he was under contract to Universal and living in Beverly Hills, starring is popular shows such as " Run for your life, The Verginian, and Wagon Train (Just to name a few). Then in 1977, Mr. Pine landed the role of Sergeant Joe Getraer in the new hit show " CHiPs" When "CHiPs" cancelled after its 6th season, Mr. Pine continnued his acting in numerous guest roles as well as major hit movies such as " The apple dumpling gang rides again" and"Independance Day". Then on October 27th 1998 fans had the privilege to once again see Mr. Pine in his role of " Sergent Joe Getrear' shine as he and the rest of the cast reunited in the movie "CHiPs 99" with the special movie. Mr. Pine now lives in the LA area with his wife actress Guynne Gilford and has two children..... He enjoys Tennis and Gardening. |

| Robert has an intense dislike for motorcycles, so much that during the first season of "CHiPs", Pine threatened to quit if his part was not changed to that of a cruiser cop. Producer Rick Rosner compromised and Pine's scenes were thereafter mostly relegated to at his desk or around the CHP station. |
| Sargent Geteaer is a loyal Law enforcer who is Causious and goes by the book. He's caring and understandning which in turn he earns the respect from the men under him. He's married (Betty) and has three kids (Timmy, Ellen and later Chris) He holds the track record of 47 seconds at the Malibu Grand Prix. He also had rank of Petty Officier in the United States Navy before his time ran out stopping him from getting promoted. On top of his minor spills and getting his life( and his Family's) threatened by a man out for revenge because he was arrested by the Sargent six months earlier, his on duty injuries include, Getting metal in his eye during a high speed chase ( Later in this same episode his life is once again on the line when a hired killer thinks the sarge wittnessed him killing the man who was the sarge's roomate in the hospital), And skids in some oil and falls into the oil that's on fire. When not on duty, Sargent Getrear enjoys studying rare gems while sipping wine and listening to classical music. Other hobbies and talents include, Playing chess, Gardening, Running, Handball, and Tennis. |
