The People mentioned above, with the cooperation and support from the members of the church had succeeded in securing a plot of land in Jalan Hashim.
In 1923 a wooden building with palm-leaves roof was build.
They were influential people in the Chung Hwa Presbyterian Church. All of them were businessmen and planters with the exception of Mr. Tay Boon Piah, one of the leaders in the Chinese Community. He was also one of the 'Kang Chus'.
