| Piano push to tune of 1k Published: April 19 2004 |
| A removal man and three friends pushed a pub piano around Chalgrove to raise money for the Oxford Children's Hospital campaign. Christopher Hicks moved the piano from The Lamb, off Mill Street, in Chalgrove with landlord Phil Samms, Richard Bates and Peter Rumble. Mr Hicks, who lives in nearby Roke, said: "We thought it was a good cause and we hoped to raise about 500. But we have doubled that and raised 1,000. "It was hard work but we made it look effortless!" The pub regulars pushed the upright piano weighing 10 and-a-half stone for two-and-a-half miles. THE most important part of any fundraising campaign are the people who give their time and money to help reach a goal. Fundraising events can be anything you like - from a sponsored head shave to bathing in baked beans, taking part in a fun run to asking friends and family to donate money rather than give you birthday presents. If you plan to raise money to build the Oxford Children's Hospital, at the John Radcliffe site in Headington, be it 10p or 10,000 then please let us know.
