The last day of 2007 at the Sacred Heart
Shrine at Fontana was marked by solemn
Mass during which all parishioners were
eager to give thanksgiving to the Lord
for the year that was setting as dusk
loomed over the horizon. The
concelebrated Mass started at 6.00pm.
The Chorus Urbanus animated the
Mass that concluded with the solemn
intonation and singing of “Te Deum
Laudamus”, a hymn of praise to thank the
Lord for all the moments of grace
available to all those that seek His
warmth.
At the end of the service the
Chorus Urbanus was given an ovation by the affectionate
congregation that recognized the
sterling service given by the choir. An
end of the year vigil of adoration and
prayer was kept between until midnight
when the first mass of 2008 was said.
It was led by Can Lino Vella, the new
parish priest of Fontana.
