Arrangements to have the Sheffield University Wind Orchestra perform together with Chorus Urbanus in Gozo have been finalized. The Orchestra will be crossing over to Gozo on Monday 17th March, 2008 and will be touring Gozo prior to the concert at St. Augustine’s Church, right in the historic centre of Victoria. The programme, which will be different from the one to be performed in Malta the following day, will consist of works by Aaron Copland, Felix Mendelssohn, Tim Jackson, John Galea, Philip Sparke and George Lloyd. The highlight of the concert will be John Williams ‘Hymn to the Fallen’, the movie soundtrack from ‘Saving Private Ryan’.

 The conductors for this Anglo-Maltese cultural collaboration will be Anthony Houghton and John Galea.

The concert will start at 19.30 hrs and entrance is free. Please be seated 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the concert.
