Chorus Urbanus in Concert -
19th May 2007 – 23.00 hrs
Franciscan Church of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Palm Street
Victoria

Gozo hosted its own version of the Notte Bianca and Notte Magica held last
year in Valletta Malta.
Cultural events in Gozo consisted of
pre- and post-activities happening with
a full weekend of events which kicked off on
Friday 18 May and extendied up to Sunday
20. Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana’s main
events took place on Saturday 19
May, reaching a culmination during the Lapsi night well into the early hours of
Sunday 20 May. The programme boasted a
balanced mix of different art forms and
genres that surely appealed to culture
lovers and the general public of all
ages. Art, music, dance and theatre were on the menu as much as history,
traditions and heritage that are
inherent in Gozo’s characteristic
cultural identity. As one of the leading
exponents of choral life in Gozo, the
Chorus Urbanus had been invited to
perform at the Franciscan Church of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Palm Street
Victoria. The choral presentation
started at 23.00 hrs and the choir was under the direction of Mro. John Galea.
Full report will follow.
The Lejlet Lapsi
programme has been extended to cover a
whole weekend in a bid to further
attract lengthier stays in both the
foreign and domestic tourism markets to
Gozo.
