Following
the huge success scored with the recording
of John Galea’s oratorio Il-Qalb ta’
Kristu and its Italian version Il
Cuore di Cristo, and its releases by
EMI Publishing Milano, the
Chorus Urbanus has been invited to feature
with prominence in another CD recording to
be released later on next year by Magro

direction of the CD entitled Sounds of
a Mediterranean Culture has been
entrusted to composer and conductor John

a cross section of the sonar soundscapes
of the Maltese
Islands
.
The
first phase of the recording of this CD
has been carried out during these last six
days. Sound design and production of the
whole project has been entrusted to Prof.

Aquilina apart from traditional ‘
Għana
’ and folk tunes.
The
second phase of this project resumed in
Sofia
last week with the esteemed participation
of the Sofia Collegium Symphony Orchestra
conducted by John Galea. Apart from
recording some orchestral tracks for the
CD, the highlight of this compilation will
be the recording of the theme song

orchestra commissioned by Magro Bros.
(Foods) Limited. The music has been
composed by Mro. John Galea to lyrics
written by Prof. Oliver Friggieri and will
be performed by soprano Yvonne Galea. The
