The Chorus Urbanus was invited by the Gozo Tourism to perform during the Award-giving Ceremony of Tourism Personality of the Year that was held at Palazzo Palina, Sannat, on the 12th December 2008 at 7.00pm. This award which has been launched this year, has the aim of awarding those persons who have contributed towards the benefit of the Tourism Industry in Gozo. A selection board presided by Magistrate Caruana Colombo, had the difficult task of selecting that person out of a list of nominations, who, in their opinion, had the greatest contribution to this aim. A highly emotional Mr Sammy Rapa, General Manager of Ta' Cenc Hotel, was selected and conferred with this prestigious award by the Minister for Gozo, the Hon. Giovanna Debono.

The Chorus Urbanus' musical contributions interspersed the various speeches delivered by the top men in the Tourism Industry both in Malta and Gozo. The concert ended with a 4-voice a capella rendition of the National Hymn.
