A standing ovation

I have just come in from watching a most wonderful presentation at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mdina, Il-Qalb ta' Kristu, written by Bishop Nikol Cauchi with beautiful music composed by Mro. John Galea together with the most angelic singing of the Chorus Urbanus Choir and their soloists, and not forgetting our wonderful National Orchestra.

Well done to everybody. They certainly deserved the standing ovation which they received.

The only disappointment of the evening was the fact that it could have done with more members of the public in attendance. There was a noticeable lack of tourists. Is it because the performance was not widely advertised or was it the fact that getting to the cathedral in Mdina has become like crossing the Sahara desert, full of dust rather than sand?

It is such a pity that such talent is not used more to promote our islands. One cannot beat perfection and tonight Il-Qalb ta' Kristu was just that. They do have a CD of the whole performance and they seem to be depending on selling these in order to recoup some of the money that putting on such a performance entails.

Please help the Chorus Urbanus and at the same time enjoy ourselves.
