Nottinghamshire (1996)

The Chorus Urbanus during their concert in St.Barnaba's Cathedral in Nottingham

The Chorus Urbanus, through its contacts with the Thoresby Colliery Brass Band of Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, organised a tour to this English county in 1996 where the Choir gave two concerts with the participation of the Thoresby Band in the Chapel of Worksop College and in St Barnaba's Cathedral in Nottingham. The Choir also had the opportunity to sing during the Sunday High Mass in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Ollerton.

The Choir sang several pieces 'a cappella' as well as others accompanied by the Thoresby Band. Mario Galea, clarinet, was guest solo and performed Weber's Clarinet Concerto accompanied by the Band.

This tour was later reciprocated and followed by another one this time by the Thoresby Band in Gozo during which the CD "Brass & Voices" was recorded. The Choir and the Band gave two concerts, one in Malta in St Paul's Anglican Church in Valletta and the other one in St. George’s Basilica in Victoria on the 11th July 1997.
