The female-voice chorus Arfa (Harp) from Sofia was established in 1972. It is composed of approximately thirty members.
The artistic activity of the choir includes a great number of solo concert, participation in choir festivals and competitions in Bulgaria and abroad.
Arfa Choir has given successful performances in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvian, France and Finland. Arfa has received favourable reviews from audiences and the media everywhere.
The Choir's artistic level has been recognized several times. Arfa won prizes for its participation in Radio Competition "Let the People Sing" - BBC, London; International Meetings of Chorus Music -Tours, France; International Chorus Competition -Varna, Bulgaria; Harmony Festival - Limburg, Germany.
Arfa Choir has made many live recordings in Bulgaria and abroad. Its recordings are kept and played by the Bulgarian National Radio.
The repertoire of the choir is rich and varied and ranges over choral works of different art periods and styles. "A Capella" choral works as well as works for choir, accompanied by piano, organ or chamber orchestra are included. The works are performed in their original language - Arfa sings in Latin, Italian, English, German, Russian, French and Bulgarian.
