Check out these cool, era-correct
musclebike ads & accessories!

(and a special "thank you" goes out to Mark in the UK for getting me to do this feature!)

Check out this cool Huffy Rail ad from 1969!

This first item is an imitation motor made by the Marx Co. that you'd actually
bolt on to your bike to not only make it LOOK as though your musclebike
has a real engine, but it contained a battery powered device that
would create a cool engine sound with the press of a button!

This second piece is yet another fake motor to bolt on to your bike, but this one
is made by Mattel. It's probably more sought after since this manufacturer
played a bigger role in kid's lives back in the `60's & `70's. (Well, at least
here in the U.S. it did!)
You will also note that it's appearance is more
realistic and this alone would probably make a youth desire it more!

Here's some official Schwinn accessories that were sold right from the very dealer you'd get
your Sting-Ray from! The items pictured above are Schwinn Approved speedometers,
rear mounted turn signals, reflective hub cleaners, triple note horns and of course,
the infamous Sting-Ray checkerboard mirror. All of these pieces are extremely
sought after in nice condition. Some things are actually being reproduced,
(e.g. checkerboard mirror and triple note horn), but there's no
substitute for the real thing if you're a purist!
