Advanced Color and Design
Professor Deb Mosch
I just spent 100 dollars on five canvases (24/30 inches) for this class.
I will keep this regularly updated with the growth of my paintings..

As well I will comment on the progress of the final works showcase scheduled for the end of the quarter.

The premise of this course is to further develope the descision making process involved in creating a series of artworks that all tie together in purpose.

I have chosen to focus my concept towards Pranayama, a breath control method employed to cleanse  your physical and psychological being.  Pranic breathing employs three stages: Inhale, breath hold, and exhale.  I hope to produce this intrinsic affect in the viewer.

On the following pages you will be able to follow the developement of this general idea through reference images and concept research.
The first step I took was priming my canvases.  I used coffee and a dirty mix of acryllic paint and sienna ink to achieve this priliminary effect.

In future stages all of this 'splatter and drip' could be lost in over-painting.  But through the use of pentamento, ghost imaging, the under-painting can be made to bleed through.
