How much time I have to live
my own life?
If I can live until 72 …
I spend one third of my time on sleeping that leaves 48 years for me to enjoy.
I spend another one-third working, so 24 years left for me to enjoy.
Everyday, I spend one hour on driving, one hour on reading newspaper, one hour on tidying myself for the day (bathing, brushing teeth combing hair and shaving etc) that works out to be 9 years for these chores which leaves 18 years for me to enjoy.
I queue up in the POSB, queue for 4D, queue up for paying bills average once a month and one hour per visit. That is 72 x 12 hours or 36 days for life.
Friends call, relatives call, wife calls, children call and my bosses call plus the nature calls (urine and the like) – be it telephone or personal call, average one day per week. That is 52 days per year and 52 x 72 = 3744 days for whole life.
My bosses say ‘I must do upgrading’. So I spend one hour a week to study. That is 365 hours a year and 365 x 72 = 26280 hours or 1095 days for life.
That leave 18x365 – 36 – 3744 – 1095 = 1695 days for me to enjoys.
I need to go for haircut (1 hour per trip), to run errands (1 hour per trip), to send my car for service, to send my wife to mother-in-law’s house (1 hour per trip), to send my friends or relatives off in airport and to attend my friend’s invitation (4 hours per trip) and that average up to 1 day per month or 72 x 12 = 864 days for whole life which leaves 1695 – 864 days = 830 days or 2.2 years to enjoy.
Friends, you have only about 2.2 year or 5 hours per week
to live your own life. Come on! Let’s play GOLF.
I just don’t believe it.
Ah Beng to Ah Seow: “I have seen this movie 101 times.”
Ah Seow: “U gila lah. Where got people do that one?”
Ah Beng: “There is this scene, Ah Teck going to make love with Ah Geok. Ling nia a! When Ah Geok is about to undress, the MRT comes by and blocks my view.”
Ah Seow: “Is like that one. Why C again.”
Ah Beng: “I just don’t believe it, every time the MRT comes so punctually.”
