Space Quest Walk Through

 

 

Whilst onboard the Arcada if you hear footsteps approaching hide either in your closet or in one of the elevators other wise you will be shot by the Sariens. Go east, that body on the other side of the wall is our first objective, ignore any other bodies lying about as they have nothing of interest on them. Enter the elevator down to the lower floor then go east again to the next elevator and enter the elevator back up. Proceed west to the body and search the body, you'll find and take a keycard, go back east and enter the elevator down to the lower floor again. Enter the door to the east of the elevator and get the widget from the generator then leave the laboratory and enter the elevator. Go east until you're in the cartridge library then wait around for the wounded scientist to enter, go over and look at the scientist then talk to the scientist and he'll tell you which cartridge you need. Use the seat to sit in front of the console then use the console and type in the symbols for what the scientist told you, the machine will retrieve the cartridge for you and bring it back. Get the cartridge, but DON'T put it in the slot or the Sariens will enter while you are reading it and you'll get shot.

Once you have the cartridge go west and enter the elevator then when on the lower lever go east to the next elevator going down and enter it, when you leave this elevator go east then move behind the support near the top of the screen as some guards will come in at any moment, when the guards have left go east to the control panel and look at the control panel. Push the open button to open the bay doors then continue east to the elevator, insert the keycard in the slot just to the left of the elevator then enter to go down. On leaving the elevator go to the closets to the right of the elevator and press the buttons on them, the left button opens a drawer that contains a gadget which you take, the right button opens a closet that contains a spacesuit, get the spacesuit from the closet then move to the airlock and push the button to open it go east into the launch bay and enter the escape pod. Look at the unit above your head then look at each of the buttons on it. Fasten your seat belt, then push the power button and pull the lever to your right and the pod lifts off. Once you're in space, push the Autonav button on the panel above your head and the pod will pick up the planet Kerona, and bring you in for a crash landing.

After you've crash landed, remove your seat belt and leave the pod, get the survival kit from the pod then open the kit to find a canister of dehydrated water and a knife, look at the canister then move around to the front of the pod and get the piece of glass that has broken from the windshield. Exit at the southeast corner then go east then continue east until you see base of the skeleton forming a ramp going up, a spider droid will drop in as you are moving round if this catches up with you it blows up killing you so keep well away from it once on the ramp you are safe from it. Go up this ramp and follow it round to where a rock is wedged, Wait for the spider droid to move below the rock then push off the rock and crush the droid. While you are out in the open you will become thirsty at various points, just use the container when you become thirsty also out side are a number of purple plants, get one of these as you pass. Continue west along the skeleton, then follow the skeleton round until you reach the end, you step on a elevator platform which takes you down to a cave. Get the stalagmite that lies just to the left and behind elevator then go west, Get the goo from the piece of stalagmite your carrying if you haven't picked up a plant from the surface, then throw it or the plant goo towards the grating and the tentacles will become stuck in the goo. Move to the back wall and round the grate then continue west. Put the stalagmite on the geyser open the door and go through it.

Leave this cave to the west and blocking your way will be a laser beam barrier, put the glass in the beams to reflect them back and destroy the barrier then continue to follow the path round the cave as you enter the section above the pool there is acid dripping from the roof, move to the front edge of the path then continue east along the path into the next cave. Before leaving this cave turn on the gadget to activate it then go east into a dark cave where a hologram will appear in front of you and since you've turned on the gadget, you'll be able to understand what the hologram says. You are offered transportation in return for eliminating a nasty, omnivorous beast named Orat, and sent back to the surface to find him. You come out beneath the skeleton so go east, north then east to the skull which is the entrance to the Orat's cave, have a drink of water before you enter the cave and have the canister as the readied item. Enter the cave and throw your canister at the Orat, it will eat the canister and explode, leaving only one little piece behind, get the piece of Orat then leave the cave and return over the skeleton and back down through the caves. It will be necessary to increase the game speed to maximum before you leave the cave or you will become dehydrated and die before you can reach the elevator otherwise, decrease the speed back to normal once in the caves.

When you're back with the hologram, drop the piece of Orat when told to and you proceed through the door that opens in front of you. Listen to the aliens, and you'll be provided with a sand skimmer, programmed to take you to your next destination. Before you mount the skimmer look at the console at the back of the room and insert the cartridge in the slot. You'll see a little history about the Star Generator, plus some very important information for future use, get the cartridge back then save the game now as there is a short arcade section that follows, you can skip this if you want and you don't lose the points for completing it. Enter the skimmer and you start the arcade sequence where you have to avoid the rocks as you travel across the desert. When you arrive in town, a gentleman will offer to buy the skimmer, answer no to his first offer and wait until he comes back, answer yes to his second offer to acquire some money and a jet pack then enter the bar. Go over to the bar and talk to the barman give him the coupon and buy a beer, do this again and again after your third beer, you should now overhear someone at the bar telling how he saw the Sarien ship in a certain sector. After hearing this go over to the slot machine and use the widget on the slot machine this will guarantee that you win on every turn. Play the machine using the 3 buckzoid bets and when you break the bank and the machine you should have a total of over 300 buckzoids which will be just enough to get the things you need.

Leave the bar and go west to the Used Ship lot, then go north to the ship at the top of the screen the owner will follow you and tell you about the "steal of the day", buy the ship then go east to the entrance of the "Droids B Us" store and enter the store, give the coupon to the salesman and buy the NAV-102 the droid from those on offer then leave the store and go west where you'll pick up your purchase which will now follow you. Go back to the ship and enter it, you load the droid then blast off into space. Type in the code for the sector that you learnt in the bar when the droid asks where you want to go and the droid will pilot you through the asteroid field and stop the ship near to the Sarien cruiser. When the droid asks if you want to get out of the area answer no, you then wear the jet pack and leave you ship. Move over to left of the airlock door and turn the handle to open the airlock, you then move into the airlock and the door closes behind you sealing you in. Go over to the far door and wait just around the corner out of sight until a small droid comes through it, smartly nip through the door before it closes then go over to the chest in the next room.

Push the chest so that it is under the vent in the wall then open the vent with the knife and you climb in the vent. Crawl along the duct to the ladder then go up the ladder to the next intersection, crawl along this duct until you reach the grate at the end. Kick the grate open it and exit the duct. Here, you're in the laundry, open the washer and climb, a Sarien will enter throw its uniform into the washer then switch it on. After your bath and your exit from the washer you'll find yourself in a Sarien uniform, look on the floor near your feet to find an ID card, get the card and leave the room through the door on the right. Enter the elevator next to the guarded one and when you leave the elevator go west to another elevator and go up to the top level. Go back to the east until you come to the weapons room then show the droid your ID card and while he's getting your weapon, open the hatch in the counter and quickly get one of the grenades sitting on the bench behind the counter. Move back to the near side of the counter and close the hatch again.

When the droid comes back, he'll give you your Pulseray, which you will need later on. Leave the weapons room the way you came in and move to the centre of the balcony over the Star Generator, drop the grenade onto the guard below then proceed west to the elevator. As you walk back to the elevator you'll trip, losing your helmet, and the Sariens will now attempt to shoot you on sight. Now you have to be quick on the trigger and shoot any Sariens you see before they shoot you, continue west and enter the elevator then when you leave go east to the Star Generator room. Search the dead guard and you'll find a remote control. Use the remote control on the Generator to turn off the force field that surrounds it then walk up the steps to the Generator, you'll notice a small panel that shows you a keypad. Here, you'll enter the self-destruct code you learned when you played the cartridge on Kerona. Press the keys for the code then press the enter button to start the destruct sequence then go west back to the elevator, enter the elevator then as you leave be ready to shoot the two Sariens near the lifts. Enter the other elevator which will take you down to the shuttle launch bay in the Sarien ship, where your last task will be to enter the shuttle in which you make your escape to complete the game.
