You begin your quest at King Edward's castle. Walk east, open door & enter the castle.

Follow the corridor to the throne room. Bow to king then talk to him. Exit the castle. Walk 1 screen west, move the rock. Get dagger ( inside the hole ).

Go 1 screen north & climb the big tree with a hole in it. Walk up to the nest, then get the egg. Climb down, walk 2 screens north from the tree with the hole. You'll eenter a screen with a walnut tree. Get walnut. Open walnut.

Walk 1 screen east from the walnut tree. Get bowl. Look bowl. Read word. Go north another screen & get some pebbles near the water. Walk south 2 screens till you reach an area with a lake. Talk to the elf & you'll get a ring. Go south 1 screen ( carrot farm ) & get a carrot.

Walk 2 screens east, the up 1 screen to arrive at the clover area in the above screenshot. Get the 4 leaf clover in the middle. Walk 2 screens down, & 2 screens east. You may have to swim across a lake but keep away from the currents on top. When you reach the screen with the old tree stump, Look in stump, then get pouch. Open pouch. .

Go east 1 screen from the stump, then south another screen till you see the poor woodcutter's house. Enter the house, say 'fill' & give bowl to man. Get the fiddle on the bottom right & leave.

Go south 2 screens & you'll arrive at the wicked witch's candy house. Go up to the front door & eat house. Open door. If she's home, exit quickly & re-enter. Repeat until she's out.

Quickly open the cabinet next to the bars & get the cheese. Enter the bedroom, get note ( next to bed ). Read note. Wait in the room till the witch returns home. When she starts paying attention to her oven, sneak up behind her & push witch.

Exit the house, go south till you see a well. Walk up to the well & cut rope ( to get the bucket ). Lower rope, then climb rope. Climb all the way down the well until you fall into the water. Dive, then swim west into the little hole.

The hole will lead you into a cave with a big dragon & a magic mirror. Walk up to the position shown in the above screenshot, wait for the dragon to get near you, then throw water at dragon. After he leaves, get mirror.

Exit the cave & walk 1 screen south to the goat pen. Open the gate, enter the goat pen. Close the gate, walk up to the goat & show carrot. The goat will then follow you.

Exit the goat pen then go to any one of the troll bridges. I went to the one on the right side of the island, 3 screens north & 1 screen west of the goat pen. Try crossing the bridge & a troll will appear. The goat will automatically butt him off. Cross the bridge into the next screen & talk to the gnome. When he asks you to guess his name, say IFNKOVHGROGHRPM ( Rumplestiltskin spelled in backwards alphabet ). You will receive some magic beans if you guess his name right.

Go east 2 screens till you see a brown patch of earth with some flowers. Stand in the middle & plant beans. Climb the beanstalk all the way to the top. Tip: Save your game often while climbing.

Climbing the beanstalk is a little tricky so you might want to set the speed down a bit. Just save frequently after every couple of steps and you'll be fine. When you reach the top, go east 2 screens, south 1 screen, then east again 2 screens till you see a tree with a hole in it. Walk up to the tree & get sling.

Go back west 1 screen, then north to meet the giant. You may attempt to hide behind the tree & wait till he falls asleep for more points but I prefer killing him with the sling. Use sling then walk up to the dead giant & get chest. Walk east 1 screen & enter the cave.

Go downstairs, exit the cave through the door.

Go west 3 screens back to where you exited the dragon's cave. If you see a large bird, walk up to it then jump. The bird will take you to a previously inaccessible location. After being dropped, walk west 1 screen & get the mushroom. Return east & enter the hole. Follow the passageway to a screen with a giant rat guarding a door. Walk closer & give cheese to rat. Open the door.

When you see the 2 leprechauns, play fiddle. If you don't play the fiddle, the other leprechauns won't leave the throne room ( above screenshot ). After the leprechaun king leaves, walk up to his throne & get both the sceptre & shield. Go west up the stairs, walk up to the little hole then eat mushroom. Enter the hole. After exiting the leprechaun's cave, go east 2 screens & north 1 screen back to the castle.

Enter the castle & bow to the king to complete the game.

Congratulations, you are now the new king! The end.
