From the warmth of Tioman, we head via Kuala Lumpur to the tranquility of Semporna in time to enjoy a dinner feast of fresh seafood and relax overnight at the Dragon Inn Water Cottages (DIWC). The DIWC is built on stilts in a clear shallow bay where seaweed is farmed. It also features a natural aquarium of a huge school of trevally and some giant groupers. Early next morning, our speedboat will to pick you up at your doorstep! From there, we head for the splendour of Mabul island and the Sipadan Mabul Resort (SMART).

Although you can walk around the entire island in less than an hour, Mabul is considerably larger than Sipadan (it takes no more than 15 minutes to walk around Sipadan!). Moreover Sipadan and Mabul couldn't be more different. While the interior of Sipadan is tropical forest, Mabul is predominantly made up of actively producing coconut trees. Practically every tree on the island is numbered and is associated with a distinct individual who cares for the tree and harvests the coconuts.

Sipadan Mabul Resort (SMART) is nestled within a coconut grove on the southeast side of the island. The resort overlooks the water and Sipadan island. Both the islands of Sipadan and Kapallai are nearby and are both easily accessible with a 10 minute speedboat ride. SMART shares the island with a large village, mainly home to the families of fisherman, coconut harvesters and employees of the resort.

Completely secluded and totally private, SMART offers a picture postcard perfection of a resort nestled amongst the gently swaying palm trees by calm and crystal clear warm tropical waters. Accommodation consist of 40 wooden duplex chalets with each room featuring two oversized single beds, a couch, shelves, ceiling fan, screened windows, air-conditioning,

en-suite toilet facilities bathroom, shower with a dispenser offering biodegradable shampoo and soap and a front verandah.

The public buildings include an open-air pavilion where meals are taken, an air-conditioned lounge set aside for watching videos and satellite TV. On the beach are deck chairs and hammocks hung between coconut palms. The swimming pool is located on the water's edge and is complemented with a huge deck furnished with deckchairs and a Jacuzzi. Treat yourself to a massage while you bask in the sun by the poolside. There is a masseur on stand by beside the pool. Tuck away to the side is a huge lock-up airing shed for storing your equipment each evening.

Numerous 4 star dive sites are found on all the three islands. The dive sites ranges from coral reefs to muck diving. Depth of dives ranges from a mere 15 feet to over 100 feet and offer an incomparable diversity of marine life.  Both Mabul and Sipadan offer amazing night dives too.

All the Divemasters are intimate with the dive sites of Mabul and Kapalai famed for muck diving and macro.

They are also totally familiar with the waters of Sipadan, famous for pelagic schools and walls.
