Spent a week in Taiwan mostly with our good friend Martha (aka Mar Mar).  Although there was lots of controversy surrounding the "assasination attempt" on the President and the subsequent election we chose to steer clear of politcal rallies.
We headed straight for the south, to Kao hsuing, to watch Martha on her scooter among the Taiwanese.
Mar Mar in her home, talking to Belly!
Martha and Ping.  Ping  cooks up some mean burgers and also gives puppies to Canadians to take home!
Dealing with our jet lag after a big meal.
Mar can't resist her Starbucks after that big meal!

This is a tough one!
This is one of the many night markets in Kao Hsuing.  If you need sunglasses, chicken feet, mystery meat, this is the place to find it.
KFC was nice enough to let us eat this half smoked chicken on their patio!

Gordon had no idea what foods he checked off on the menu.  It's safe to assume we had some tongue, chicken behind, and other assorted animal parts! Delicious!
MMMmmmmm!!!!
The servers came by a few times in a panic, laughing and taking things off our grill.
A night out with Gordo, Rachel and Claire.
Lo' favourite breakfast food - Dan Bing!
Parting shot of Taiwan

Taiwan has an incredible scooter culture.  It is the transport mode of choice for the rich and poor come rain or shine.  It is for this reason that every urban street corner looks like the sales yard of some enormous used scooter dealership.
