Thailand
Return to main trip page.
Here are the pics from our first visit to Thailand, specifically Kao San Road in Bangkok and Ko Samet, an island (Ko) a few hours away.

Kao San Road, Bangkok
Kao San Road in it's neon glory.  A little too much for us to handle.
This is Lori's favourite food stand - fresh lemon grass, local prawns, thai basil and some other stuff that we have no idea the name of.
Here's the result - Lemon grass shrimp soup.  You can't beat that for $1 CAD!
It's time for our favourite: Where's Waldo?
Here's a wat there's a wat, everywhere's a wat wat.
Ko Samet (Island)
Out of the craziness that is Kao San and to the paradise of Ko Samet.  We did not realize until looking at the pics that we had this little chunk of heaven practically to ourselves!
Lo on the beach.
Ian on the porch.
The view from the porch.  We got a nice little bungalow that featured it's own geckos for mosquito control.
Looking the other way from the porch was Ian's favourite bit of Thai carpentry.
Ian liked it a lot and we got pics from all angles.
More dock.
Marla and Eldan, a couple of Canadians we befriended on our rather hectic first night on the island.
Sunset serenade.
Lori has developed a skill for taking these flower close up shots.  We know this one is a Bird of Paradise, we'll leave it up to Chuck and any other amateur botanists to identify the rest...
