Varanasi is a fortuitous place to die. Those lucky enough are cremated at one of the burning ghats and their remains are disposed of in the Ganges. According to religious tradition this is a sure way to achieve Moksha, freedom from rebirth. This firewood is used for the funeral pyres. |
