Professional Engineers have long been regarded as the "
silent profession." We technical folks love to solve problems and are good at it. When it comes to lobbying for our own profession, we never like to speak up for ourselves. However, we need to be
proactive in lobbying for ourselves in today's society. We should fight against the external certification imposed by Brownfield and BRRAG / Bill124 legislations threatening PEO's self-regulating authority. Would lawyers accept taking an external certification exam on the Highway Traffic Act in order for them to practice traffic laws? I would think not!

I believe PEO needs to raise public awareness of the
value of our licence. PEO must recognize the achievement of our Chapters as the key to its success. I have a vision that builds a better PEO by strengthening Chapter system and focusing on individual members. START/START II proved great ideas coming from the grassroots. It is vital to create a
stronger Chapter system for meeting your needs and priorities.

As your new Councillor, I will bring fresh ideas to the table. I will fight for your issues, and give you a
stronger voice in PEO. I am proactive in my actions and innovative in approach. I improved my Chapter communications which resulted in over 30% cost savings. I am a PEO spokesperson to the government. I enjoy the challenge and have the stamina and personality to provide leadership and represent your chapters.
