WILLIS O´BRIEN

 

The master of stop-motion animation, Willis O´Brien, out of economic necessity, he made  matte
paintings at some moments of his career for RKO and Paramount.

This self-portrait in the make-up  of Rembrandt is the last known picture of O´Brien. It was made as a
gift to Don Weed of Films Effects Studio, Hollywood, during the trick work and animation for " It´s a
mad, mad, mad, mad world".
