Founded by 14 federal workers in 1921, NARFE has become a major force on Capitol Hill and across the nation.  NARFE is an effective and highly respected legislative voice for federal workers and retirees. At the field level, NARFE has 50 state federations and federations in the District of Columbia, Panama, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico, plus 1,710 chapters. Members are kept up-to-date on issues such as federal, state and local legislative developments, judicial actions, and regulatory changes through NARFE's monthly magazine

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) association serves those who serve and have served the nation. NARFE is the only association dedicated to protecting the earned retirement benefits of federal employees, retirees and their suvivors. NARFE's commitment is to secure the future that federal employees have worked to achieve for themselves and their families.
Chapter 1229 meets monthly on the third Thursday at 12:15 in the Golden Corral, 1850 Zumbehl Rd, St. Charles, MO.  Social hour & lunch begins at 11:15

NARFE Dues
Membership fee per person is $33.00.  The first year membership fee is in lieu of national and chapter dues.  Upon renewal you will be billed for national and chapter dues at the prevailing rate on your anniversary date.  Chapter 1229 dues are $6.00 per year.

Who Can Join NARFE?
Membership is open to civilians employed at any agency of the federal or District of Columbia government who work under a federal retirement program, including:
* Retirees
* Former employees
* Current employees
* Spouses and surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE
* Former spouses who are legally eligible  for a federal annuity
