We started out as niggers.

Then we were Negroes.

Then we were colored.

Then we were blacks.

Now we are African Americans.

It is to my belief that a name or a classification does not change the game.

A rose by any other name is just as sweet.

You can call me what you want.  I’m still going to be just as beautiful, proud, and intelligent as I was before.

Don’t worry me about such issues as to what to call me.  All I want to be considered as is your sister.
