We started out as niggers.
Then we were Negroes.
Then we were colored.
Then we were blacks.
Now we are African Americans.
It is to my belief that a name or a classification does not change the game.
A rose by any other name is just as sweet.
You can call me what you want. I’m still going to be just as beautiful, proud, and intelligent as I was before.
Don’t worry me about such issues as to what to call me. All I want to be considered as is your sister.
