so this is my first entry.  i have a lot to say, but i'm going to go slowly.  give me time to feel out this whole process and get used to it.  it's like kramer from _seinfeld_, you know... he started out a totally dimwitted fellow, but as the show progressed, michael richards (the actor) got a better idea of who kramer was and how he should behave, and he sharpened his character to where kramer is now (or was).

big company meeting coming up in 7 minutes.  i always keep my clocks ahead by 7 minutes, so i give myself enough temporal insulation to when i need to get my ass going.  yeah, you might argue that i just gradually get used to always being a specific time ahead, but i tell you, it really works.  i will admit that it's a little strange that we have to pretend to fool ourselves sometimes.  we should be bigger than that, right?

this meeting is called the "all-hands meeting."  what, are we trying to be a submarine or something?  "all hands on deck?"  is that it?  so we're like a ship?

"this ship has sailed!" - ross
"i don't need your stupid ship!" - rachel

i love _friends_.  well, it used to be much better.  back when there was tension.  my favorite shows always have someone pining over someone they can't have.  it's a rooting thing; you root for the guy to get the girl, or vice versa.

ok.  time for a smoke, then off to the meeting.
