| 15 apr 2001 saw my old stanford taiko group play at the children's day fair yesterday.� snapped the picture above with my darling nugget camera.� cute kid. anyways, i just watched a taped version of this week's _dawson's creek_.� i find myself really impatient when i watch tapes.� i can't really explain why.� maybe it's because i didn't watch it live, so i feel like by taping it, it becomes kind of a secondary priority to watch, and i just want to get it out of the way. and besides, _dawson's_ isn't that good lately.� i'd much rather watch the chase than the actual relationship, because the latter is just full of dysfunction and unnecessary drama.� but anyways, back to the show.� it seems every season, you're rooting for the underdog, and whereas pacey was just that last season, dawson is making a comeback.� his offer to support joey through college was pretty remarkable.� i called it, but i was still kind of mushed out by the fact that a friend would do that for someone else. but the relationship i like the best in this show now is that of jen and jack.� once again, like _will and grace_, it's a gay guy and a girl.� why do i like watching them so much?� just like in _my best friend's funeral_, with julia roberts and rupert everett.� i think it's fun to watch because you get both a male and a female's perspective in their pure form, untainted by all the sexual tension that would inevitably arise had the characters been both heterosexual. i wonder... how much fun i'd have with a lesbian friend.� i guess that's my equivalent. so i had to download that picture up above to my friend's computer, transfer it over to floppy, and put it on my hard drive.� yup.� my computer is just not cooperating.� the stupid thing is this: i went out and bought the win98 upgrade, but in the setup, it announces, "you already have an operating system; use the upgrade version."� fuck!� this IS the upgrade version, you dumbass!� i even went back and returned it, thinking maybe it was a cosmically rare fluke where they printed the wrong cd, but as expected, i got the same error. i can't stand it when i run into a problem that just makes no sense.� and yeah, i got another bad headache yesterday.� apparently i don't face problems like this with much resiliency.� how fragile. anyways... i'm off to the driving range.� haven't hit the golf ball in many months.� i'll be expecting my sides to be sore tomorrow.� then off to a school play (my first), starring ricky, of "boyfriend of jo-ann" fame.� no, no juicy tidbits there anymore.� thank god. now if i could only get this camera USB thing working... i would be riding high on life right now. |
