i love my shoes. i told
scarf girl a few weeks ago at our bowling night that all of my shoes have to be *fabulous*. the red pair on the right (the vans red reverts) was a something that i spied in my roommate paul's _maxim_ magazine over a year ago... and i knew i had to get them. i used to be known for wearing red shoes... freshman year, people could easily identify me by the red converse chuck taylors that i had on. kristie used to tell me that one of the key accessories in a person's wardrobe was the shoes he had on.

so
osiris has been my latest fixation. i do have that one shirt that i got when i was in harajuku last august, but i've been searching for a good pair of osiris skateboard shoes lately. i was waiting for carol to come down so we could hit valley fair; that mall has a great optique as well as an athletics store that carries osiris shoes. but yesterday, i went to their website, i immediately got a crush on the blue/grey pair that you see above... so of course i ordered right then and there; they should be coming in the mail in a week or so. i'm *SO* excited! for the last two or three years, i've been wearing adidas, but now that my blue stuntbikiers are getting old and rather stinky, it's time to let go and move on.

yeah, i should stop spending money. but it's really hard when i see something beautiful, you know?

i just did my taxes. i didn't file them just yet (i have to wait until i open a roth IRA for this year), but according to turbotax online, i'm getting about $2000 back total from my federal and state returns. just perfect, for funding my iMac purchase. i *love* turbotax online... it took me about 35 minutes to do my fed and state return. so easy!

i'm ancy about my iMac. i've read that apple has about 150,000 preorders, and i wonder how far down the list i am... hell, will i have to wait weeks, even months to get my computer? sheesh. but at least that'll give me time to come up with a name for it. with something that beautiful, i have to give it a name, right?

but anyways... ahh... shoes. i love my shoes. i think of all the things, my love for shoes is what makes me most like a woman.

some idiot wrote in my guestbook yesterday that i was lame and needed some sex and i needed to go away. *eyeroll* yeah, sure i'd like some sex. but anyways, why do people read me if they think i'm dumb? i think it's a blatant sign that evolution has not done its job of weeding out the stupid people in this world.

i took the new IQ test on
thespark yesterday (i can't find a link to it right now). unlike the last one, which was a bogus test, this one actually was real, and it had some pretty neat difficult questions. it was a timed test, so i tried pretty hard, but on the few questions that i didn't immediately get, i just skipped them. so i guess i could have done better. but anyways, i put in my best effort at the time (dinner had arrived, so i was hurrying), and i got an IQ of 149, which translates to about 90th percentile. hm. i'm glad i did decently, but i think i can do better. i bet eric and jeremy would do really well on that test... but it's kind of awkward to ask for someone's test score because unlike the other spark tests, this one actually evaluates something against a competitive metric. i mean, if i scored really badly on a purity test or bastard test or sex test or whatever, it'll just get a few laughs. but i have a feeling that when it comes to something like intelligence, people are a little more guarded about comparing themselves to others.

but it's a fun test! go take it! i like puzzles and brainteasers and stuff like that. i swear, that part of my brain doesn't get exercised enough these days. it's not like back at school, where i had midterm and finals to do that for me every 3-5 weeks or so.

when i went bowling yesterday, i was thinking of wearing this off-white fuzzy mossimo jacket that i bought a long time ago and never wore. but the thing is, it's kind of pimp-like, and apparently it doesn't go with jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. *ponder* i need some help here to come up with a suitable outfit that goes along with that jacket. but it was damn cold out there last night (and for the past few weeks), so i just slapped on my new ecko oversized sweatshirt.

mike brought his brand spankin' new rubik's cube (they STILL make these?!) to bowling last night. he wanted his friend eric to show him this move that flips over the 12 and the 3 squares on the bottom. i didn't know there was such a move, so i was keenly interested. damn, a new cube is so tight! (i don't mean tight as in cool, but tight as in it takes a lot of effort to manipulate.) but anyways, i think my OCD for rubik's cube came out as mike was working on solving one. i just kept looking over, itchimg to grab it away from him and do it myself. i've said before that i literally start to itch when i see an unsolved cube. but mike's getting the hang of it. anyways, eric showed us the move, and it's rad! it's actually two moves which do the trick, but now that i've learned them, i feel more complete for some reason.

i'm starting to like my ayumi hamasaki cd. i got her best of album, and i've been playing it constantly in my car. i think she's a bad singer, though, but the songs are still nicely generic and pseudo-catchy enough to enjoy.

friday night looks like it'll be interesting. i haven't decided what i'm going to do, but i know of three events going on that night. one is ice skating, which sonya's roommate is putting on, and there are two parties up in the city. hm.

and then, jeremy is hosting a superbowl party. he had to. i mean, he's a new england patriots fan! anyways, when i lived in boston, i had this little patriots outfit that i used to wear. but then some bastard child stole my patriots hat, and i was traumatized. bitch. yeah, i'll be rooting for the patriots, even though i think the rams are ridiculously awesome. i guess i don't care for who wind, because both teams are likeable. i'm glad aeneas williams is finally on a championship-contending team after being with the lowly cardinals for so damn long.

i can't wait for the weekend!

but the bad news... it's only fucking wednesday.

one last thing... can anyone tell me why the workers at doublemeat palace were so stoned? they didn't explain that in last night's _buffy_.
